Terms of Service

Effective October 15, 2026

These Terms govern your use of StackLife, operated by Branchpoint Labs, a service for finding and organizing videos hosted by third parties. By using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

How your searches are used

When you submit a discovery prompt, StackLife processes it into search terms and related constraints. We use the processed terms to search our existing video-reference corpus and send them to Brave Search for current web results. Depending on the source and request, other configured video-discovery providers may also receive search terms. Your immediate results may combine corpus references with external results, subject to availability, safety rules, and relevance filtering.

Each ordinary search may also create a one-time, system-operated discovery request. On a later nightly run, StackLife may send the processed topic and applicable search constraints to OpenAI for a web search. This background request is best-effort: it may be delayed, skipped for resource or policy reasons, or fail without yielding results. It does not create a recurring user subscription or a promise to deliver additional results to the person who searched.

Permissible video references found through supported discovery sources may be recorded in StackLife’s shared corpus, even when they are not shown in your results. This includes source links and available source metadata, not video binaries. Brave Search results are different: ordinary search and opening a Brave result do not save that result to the corpus. If you are signed in and explicitly save a Brave result, StackLife may retain the selected source video link and your action; any later video metadata is obtained separately from the source platform, not copied from Brave’s search result. Search prompts and user-specific preferences are operational/private records; they are not published as shared corpus entries. Administrators may inspect limited job status and captured links to operate and troubleshoot the service. External providers process the data sent to them under their own terms and privacy practices.

Accounts and acceptable use

You may browse public content without an account. Features such as saving, voting, commenting, and personal preferences require an account. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Do not submit unlawful material, attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with the service, or use automated access beyond interfaces we authorize.

Third-party videos and links

StackLife indexes references to videos hosted by others; it does not own or host those videos. Their availability, playback, accuracy, and legality are controlled by the source platforms and rights holders. Viewing a video may take you to a third-party service subject to its own terms. A listing or ranking is not an endorsement.

Your contributions

You remain responsible for comments and other content you submit. You grant StackLife a non-exclusive right to store, display, and moderate that content as needed to provide the service. You must have the rights necessary to submit it and must not violate another person’s rights.

Availability and changes

Search and background discovery depend on external services, quotas, safety requirements, and technical availability. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and may remove content or accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. We may update these Terms by posting a revised version and effective date on this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, StackLife is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee that results are complete, accurate, safe, or continuously available. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service or third-party content.

Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by applicable Canadian law, without limiting any mandatory rights you may have under the law where you live. Questions about these Terms or how searches are used may be sent to branchpointlabs@gmail.com.
